Willow Tank Top or Dress

June 24 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

You will make a breezy tank top or dress. It’ll be a summertime favorite! Skills covered include darts, hemming, and applying bias facing. Materials: 2 - 3 yards of cotton fabric and coordinating thread. Pattern Included. Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Serger 101, or entire Sewing Skills series. Must be comfortable using a rotary cutter and have previously completed a multi-piece commercial pattern project. Skill Level: Intermediate Sessions: This class meets on Saturday, June 24, 1:00pm - 5:00pm.

Open Sew

June 25 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Come sew with other sewists in our classroom space.  Fee allows the use of sewing machines, sergers, cutting tables, irons, and sewing tools.  Prior sewing experience is required.  No instruction in provided. Materials: None Skill Level: Beginner Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Serger 101, or equivalent experience. Please note: Not available for online purchase. Please pay $10 fee in-person at event. Spaces are limited.

Romper for Adults

July 1 @ 12:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Rompers are all the rage this summer. Get in on this trend by making your own! Materials: Requires 2 to 3 yards of moderate stretch knits (e.g., Cotton Jerseys, Rayon Jerseys, ITY knits); 1.75 yards of 1/4” wide elastic; and coordinating thread. Skill level: intermediate Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Serger 101, or entire Sewing Skills series. Must be comfortable using a rotary cutter and have previously completed a multi-piece commercial pattern project. Sessions: This class meetings on Saturday, July 1, 12:00pm-4:30pm

Serger T-shirt

Using a serger, learn how to make a cool, casual t-shirt. Materials: Requires 2 yards of jersey knit fabric. Skill level: intermediate Prerequisites: Serger 101 or prior experience using a serger. Linen Aprons

Make the perfect apron! This linen cross-over apron has a modern style and maximum functionality. The apron has two roomy front pockets, no ties or buckles, and one size comfortably fits all. Serger Circle Skirt

Learn how to make a fabulous circle skirt out of knit fabric. You will be twirling all summer long in this fun skirt! Materials: Requires two yards of 60" wide jersey knit fabric with at least 20% stretch and 1.25 yards of 1" wide elastic. Pattern included. Kids’ Garment Camp: July 2017

Nettie Bodysuit or Dress

The Nettie pattern is a quick and easy to make wardrobe staple. Close fitting with high cut arms, it can be made into a knit dress or a bodysuit. Materials: For either bodysuit or dress, requires 2 yards of 4-way stretch fabrics with good recovery and at least 50% crosswise stretch (cotton-lycra and lycra are ideal); 3 metal snaps for the snap crotch (optional); clear elastic or twill tape to stabilize shoulder seams; and coordinating polyester thread. Handcraft Workshop offers a wide variety of kid and adult sewing classes.  From the very beginner to the very advanced, there’s a class for everybody!If you’re a beginner or haven’t sewn awhile in need a refresher, Sewing 101 is the perfect class for you.  From there, you’ll find project based classes of varying skill levels, skill classes that focus on particular techniques, serger classes, and more.  Experienced sewist can start with a project class that interests them and matches their skill level.

Skill Level Recommendations

Newbie: No experience necessary
Beginner: Taken Sewing 101 or equivalent
Intermediate: Ready for some serious sewing
Advanced: Could teach a class or two!

Kids classes are intended for students aged 8-15.  Adult classes are intended for students aged 16+.
