bop-sewing2014-sqHandcraft Workshop offers a wide variety of kid and adult sewing classes.  From the very beginner to the very advanced, there's a class for everybody!  If you're a beginner or haven't sewn awhile in need a refresher, Sewing 101 is the perfect class for you.  From there, you'll find project based classes of varying skill levels, skill classes that focus on particular techniques, serger classes, and more.  Experienced sewist can start with a project class that interests them and matches their skill level.

Skill Level Recommendations

Newbie: No experience necessary  |  Beginner: Taken Sewing 101 or equivalent
Intermediate: Ready for some serious sewing  | Advanced: Could teach a class or two!
(Kids classes are intended for students aged 8-15.  Adult classes are intended for students aged 16+.)

Open Sew

Ebony Top or Dress

Make a swingy knit dress or modern cropped top, with your choice of scoop or jewel neckline, and long or 3/4 sleeves. For the ultimate leggings companions, make an Ebony tunic, with a cascading hem and short raglan sleeves. All necklines are finished with a knit band. Gathered Skirt with Zipper

Take your sewing skills to the next level with inserting a zipper into a skirt! Materials: 2 yards of cotton fabric: linen, chambray, or sateen. One 9” invisible zipper, one hook & eye, and coordinating thread. Pattern included. Prerequisites: Sewing 101, Serger 101, or entire Sewing Skills series. Must be comfortable using a rotary cutter and have previously completed a multi-piece commercial pattern project. Lottie Top, Tunic or Sundress

The Lottie Top, Tunic, and Sundress are loose fitting wardrobe staples with three sleeve and three length options for 18 mix and match combinations. Sleeveless Summer Tunic & Leggings

Make a tunic with three different lengths for three different looks and a pair of leggings! Materials: For Tunic: 2.5 to 3.5 yards of cotton, linen, chambray or jersey knit. 3 yards of 1/2” wide bias tape.
